Construction & Maintenance
Climbing park Elegance construction
1. Plan
Spread the wooden elements out on the floor in front of the wall. Move them around on the floor in the way you want them to hang on the wall. This way you can try out different variations until you are really happy with them.
2. Drill holes & screw
Take the wooden parts and put the wood screws into the holes so that they stick out about half a centimeter at the back. Make sure the screws are the right length.
Now hold the first piece of wood against the wall where you want it to hang later. Take a spirit level or a smartphone (spirit level app) and align the piece of wood so that the black surface at the top is horizontal. Now press the piece of wood with the screws onto the back of the wall so that the screws leave marks.
Now drill the holes into the wall using a 10mm drill. Drill about 6-7 centimeters deep into the wall.
Now insert the dowels as far as they will go (a hammer can help) and screw the wooden parts tight. Do the same for the other wooden parts.
3. Metal Plates & Cushions
Now screw the metal plates onto the wood using the small metal screws. Next, take the Velcro pieces and stick them to the top of the plate in the middle. The cushions are then smoothed out on top.
Sisal, wood & cushion care
1. Re-tension & renew sisal
Since sisal is a natural product, it will stretch a little after the first few scratching attempts. Tighten the sisal by turning it clockwise from bottom to top so that the loose end is at the top hole.
Shorten the sisal by a suitable amount by pulling it out of the hole, wrapping it with TESA film at the cut point and then cutting it in the middle of the TESA. This way it won't fray and can be easily inserted.
The sisal is held in place by being stuck in place and does not need to be glued.
2. Wood care (optional)
You can re-oil the wood if necessary. This way it will always have a beautiful color. Simply take some linseed oil varnish and massage it in sparingly, for example with a cloth. Wipe off all excess oil.
3. Pillow care
The cushion cover can be easily removed for cleaning. To do this, remove the cotton padding via the lower cut. The covers can be washed at 30 degrees. Iron only at a low temperature.
Scratching posts construction
1. Construction of scratching posts with base
Lay the scratching post on the floor and mount the large base with the large screws.
Set up the scratching post and then mount the metal plates using the small screws.
Stick the Velcro on and lay out the cushions.
2. Construction of wall-mounted scratching posts
Lay out the scratching post or the scratching post parts in front of the wall where the tree will later be set up. Position everything as you wish.
Now screw the wood screws into the individual parts of the scratching post, depending on their length, so that they protrude about half a centimeter at the back. Take the scratching post and hold it in the correct position against the wall.
Use a spirit level or a spirit level app to make sure the black areas for the panels are level with the floor.
Now press the scratching post against the wall so that the screws leave marks.
Now drill holes in those places with a 10mm drill and then sink the dowels into them.
Now screw the scratching post tight.
Finally, the metal plates are attached to the scratching post with the small screws, the Velcro is glued to the middle of the plates and the cushions are then placed on top.
